Below is the basic overview of payment and cancellation policies.
- An $800 non-refundable deposit saves your spot!
- For "Add-On" itineraries, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the Trip Price of each add-on is required.
- Accepted forms of payment include Credit Card (w/ low 3.0% fee), Venmo, Zelle, PayPal (+3.5% service fee), checks payable to Slow Travel with Lisa, cashier's check, wire transfer ($20 fee).

Sample Payment Schedule:
- $800 non-refundable deposit saves your spot.
- Second payment of $800 due on or before 180 days before Trip Start Date.
- Remaining balance due in full 90 days before the Trip Start Date.
Any and all discount offers will be applied to the final balance due.
*An administrative fee of $185 is applied to each add-on booking made by Participants who do not participate in the STWL 8-day small group itinerary. Note: Add-on fee for Maremma is $195.
Submission of trip deposit signifies Participant's agreement to all Slow Travel with Lisa Terms and Conditions, and is not dependent upon whether Participant's Trip Application has been received or reviewed by STWL.
Payment in full of total trip price is due ninety (90) days before the start date of all itineraries selected. If a sign-up occurs at anytime ninety (90) days before the itinerary start date, payment is immediately due in full to reserve a spot.

Additional information:
- Slow Travel with Lisa reserves the right to add two additional guests to any of its itineraries for a maximum number of 12 guests. A minimum number of eight (8) guests is required for all STWL itineraries. A four-guest (4) minimum is required for each add-on option.
- All Trip Prices are in US Dollars and based on double-occupancy of accommodations.
- Airfare is not included in trip price.
- Hotel taxes are included in price but daily hotel city tariffs are not (and range from 1.5 to 5.5 euro per day, per person).
- Proof of a comprehensive travel insurance policy is required.

Pricing and Payment Schedule*: All pricing is based on double occupancy. A deposit is required at the time of booking to guarantee your space.
With submission of trip deposit you agree to and are bound by, all Slow Travel with Lisa Terms and Conditions.
Balance of the full amount is due ninety (90) days prior the start date of the tour.
A single-occupancy request and private room will require an additional supplemental fee added to the total cost of tour and is subject to availability.
Sample payment plan:
$800 is required deposit to reserve your spot on trip.
$800 second payment, paid on or before180 days prior to trip start date.
Final balance due ninety (90) days prior the start date of the tour.
NOTE: All applicable discounts will be applied to the final payment of total balance due.
All prices are quoted in US dollars and all payments must be made in US dollars. Deposits and subsequent payments can be made through Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, by Check, Cashier’s Check, ACH transfer or Wire Transfer. An additional bank fee of $20 will be required on all wire transfers. Payments using PayPal require a service fee of 3.5% of amount paid. Other fees may apply. Please note: Your Program payments are due by at the time indicated, regardless of your approval status. If the Organizer does not receive each of your Program payments on time, it may cancel your reservation, in which case you forfeit your deposit. Please contact Info@SlowTravelwithLisa.com with any questions and in advance of a payment due date.
Deposit submitted, it is Participant's responsibility to complete and return the Trip Application and Agreements, required in order for STWL to determine and grant final approval to participate in the STWL itinerary. STWL will retain the trip deposit in the event that Participant fails to submit any of all requested and required documents within the timeline specified.
If there is still room available for additional guests less than ninety (90) days prior to the start date of the STWL itinerary, guests will be required to pay the full sum of the trip price upon booking. All payments submitted less than thirty (30) days prior to departure must be made by wire transfer (with $20 fee).
Photographs and, in some cases, videos of Participants of Slow Travel with Lisa itineraries may be used for educational and promotional purposes by Slow Travel with Lisa. Participants expressly consent to this manner of promotional use when trip deposit is submitted.
*Exchange rates can fluctuate. In the event that the value of the dollar deflates in respect to the euro, a supplement payment may be required to cover the actual cost due to such a change in exchange rate of the trip for Slow Travel with Lisa.
*Transport and Fuel Surcharges. In the event that STWL is subject to additional payments for increased costs of transport and fuel, a supplement payments may be required to cover these additional costs.
Special Requests: Should you have any special requests in terms of physical or dietary requirements, you must advise Slow Travel with Lisa at the time of the booking and submission of deposit and clearly note it on your Trip Application form. We will endeavor to pass any reasonable requests on to the relevant third party Service Provider; however, we regret that we cannot guarantee that your special request will be fulfilled. Failure to meet any special request does not signify a breach of contract on the part of Slow Travel with Lisa.
Note: Costs of air travel and all transportation to and from the trip meeting and departure points are not included in the price of this trip.

NOTE: We may at any time revise our Itinerary and Terms and Conditions. You are bound by such revisions and should therefore periodically review these Terms and Conditions.

Cancellation
2025 Cancellation Policy. If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your trip, all cancellations must be received by Slow Travel with Lisa in writing, sent by email to info@slowtravelwithlisa.com. The cancellation fees will be computed as of the date of receipt of written cancellation notice. It is highly recommended that written cancellation be followed by a phone call to verify receipt of your notice of cancellation.
The maximum amount of any refunds made to a participant will not exceed the amount of payment actually received by Slow Travel with Lisa.
If you cancel your reservation for any reason, the following fees and timelines apply:
- 91+ days prior to start date of the itinrary booked: Full refund, less the trip deposit and any and all costs/fees that Slow Travel with Lisa (the "Organizer") has already paid to third-party vendors, such as but not limited to, room reservations, transportation, drivers, guides, admission fees, etc. towards services, fees and reservations relate to the Program.
- Deposits paid to Organizer for any and all Add-on itineraries are non-refundable.
- Deposits for any and all Add-On Options are non-refundable.
- 90-61 days prior to start date of the itinerary booked: 50% of the total cost paid, less the total amount of of deposit plus any and all costs/fees that Slow Travel with Lisa has already paid to third party vendors, such as room reservations, transportation companies, guided visits, admission fees, etc., towards future trips or services. [Participant may request in writing that the full amount of the trip deposit be used towards a future STWL itinerary. Slow Travel with Lisa reserves the right to grant or deny any such request, based upon factors such as availability and Program schedule. Slow Travel with Lisa will notify Participant in writing regarding the decision either to deny or to grant a request to apply a trip deposit towards the total trip price of a future STWL itinerary. If granted, Participant must participate in and use the deposit towards, an STWL itinerary within twelve (12) months of the start date of the cancelled itinerary. Failure to participate in an STWL itinerary within the required twelve-month period will result in forfeiture of the total amount of deposit.]
- 60 days or less before the first day of the itinerary: No refunds will be issued.
- Cancellation during the trip: No refunds will be issued.
- No partial refunds will be issued for a participant's deviation from the STWL Program itinerary for any reason, including, but not limited to, missed activities, excursions, tours, meals, transportation or lodging.

Note: A minimum number of 8 persons is required for all STWL 2025 itineraries; 4 persons for each add-on itinerary. If the minimum number of participants is not met, guests will normally be informed thirty (30) days prior to the start date of the itinerary. No partial refunds will be given for unused travel and trip arrangements or activities for any reason whatsoever.
Substitutions are not allowed.
Cancelled Trips: Slow Travel with Lisa reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure for any reason whatsoever, including insufficient signup or logistical problems that may impede trip operations. The refund of all land payments (less trip deposit and less the non-refundable 30% deposit on any and all Add-on options) received shall release Slow Travel with Lisa from any further liability including but not limited to your personal expenses as a result of a tour cancellation such as equipment, insurance, fees, airline tickets and other transportation and travel costs or personal hotel reservations. A trip with insufficient signup would normally be cancelled a minimum of one month prior to departure.
NOTE: All deposits for "add-on" option itineraries are non-refundable.
Slow Travel with Lisa normally must make payments to its third party suppliers (hotel, transportation companies, etc) well in advance of the scheduled date of use. If a trip is cancelled due to force majeure (acts of God or government, war, labor strikes, pandemics, travel restrictions, earthquakes, flooding, weather, epidemics or threat thereof, etc.), Slow Travel with Lisa will refund the portion of the trip costs not already advanced to suppliers, less the non-refundable trip deposit. All Add-On Option deposits are non-refundable.
STWL will use its best efforts to recover and refund the balance as promptly as possible. However, Slow Travel with Lisa does not guarantee recovery of any or all of the advance payments made, and our use of best efforts to recover these payments will not include the institution of any legal proceedings in foreign jurisdictions or otherwise.
Protecting You + Your Investment
Travel Insurance. Slow Travel with Lisa will require each guest to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance package for our tours.
The policy will include coverage of trip cancellation and medical insurance. A travel insurance plan that includes coverage for medical insurance including emergency medical evacuation and repatriation coverage is mandatory on our tours, plus coverage for delays, theft and lost items.
Travel insurance will minimize your risk, both financial and medical as we, unfortunately, cannot make exceptions for inclement weather or personal emergencies. It is also recommended that you select the Cancel for Any Reason option to maximize your coverage and that you purchase this option on the same date you purchase all other policies.
Note: if you choose to purchase the recommended Cancel for Any Reason Policy, you must do so at the same time that you purchase all other policies-- and usually within 14 days of the date of your initial trip payment.
